DTS Weekly.

Week V11 ///

This week Regario spoke to us on the topic of spiritual warfare.

While the topic's reality+implications were touched on, a great deal of the discourse was emphasizing our need to have our identity built up in the Lord.

The fact that we should suspend every question we have first to God in prayer, since He is our everything source; instead of acting autonomously on what we think we know.
Being so rooted in Him shows that we really understand our position with // identity in Him.
&
ultimately, to know who who we are, we have to know who He is. And to know who He is, we have to know what He says.

Week V1 ///

Mini outreach teams have been chosen!
I am on team Germany; but I don’t know the town’s name yet.
It is really exciting! And God’s really given me a peace and joy to go.

All week, one of our base leaders, Cory, was speaking about foundations, our roots, and how we live these things out.
The encouraging thing about our stubborn root system, is that we can always redirect them back to Christ & He is able to change our direction altogether
This week’s been a simple & good one.  A lot of focus on praying into our outreach teams which leaves us all super stoked to go!

GOSPEL TRUTH // SIN & REPENTANCE

The Gospel is the true-life story about the wonder God did through His Son to connect humanity back to Him.  Basically, it’s good news for you!

&I think that for someone who has never heard of the Gospel before, it should more or less be related as such. Simple and straightforward.

For sure there needs to be recognition in that person of his/her current condition:
a total need to return to God.  When there is a personal awareness of that, then the Gospel makes sense.

The best thing..

not to do

would be to formulize the process of evangelism, but instead be led by the Spirit.  You are not trying to sell something. You’re communicating God’s truths.

So last week’s lectures were loaded with sin/repentance, &one of the cool things we got to exercise is exemplified in James 5.16:

Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed.

For me, I’ve never really just sat down and done this with someone, so it was definitely a blessing and cool experience.

A lot of what may inhibit people from the sharing of such an experience would for sure be resistance rooted in pride; I know that it can be like that for me sometimes.  I def think that being more intentional about sharing experiences would be a good move to counter that.

WEEK NUMERO CUATRO ///

Well HEY, everyone.

This past week was base stories week; a chance for staffers to spill on some awesome things God’s accomplished in and through them, whether it was at some point during their time serving as staff or during their DTS’.

It was encouraging of course, and cool to see the joy they got from sharing.

We were privileged to see and be a tiny part of the grand opening of the first outside venue of Pick-a-Pocket. Which, p.s., you can peep their vision/work as an organization, at their website – check it out:

WEEK II/III ///
God the Father
is so multifaceted.

It’d take eternity to list off the number of wonderful//cool things about Him.

Week II, was focused on communion with the Lord, and on an attitude that seeks to nurture that relationship with Him.

Touching on the aspect of His heart/role as our Father was the theme of last week.

This is totally something that I’ve had firsthand with.

Since my dad recently passed, God’s truly given me a straight up opportunity to REALLY understand what it is to be His daughter. It’s been a definite chance to live that way, to live experiencing my perfect Dad.

So this week for sure was all very refreshing to be open to Him revealing more of that part of Himself to me.

What’s crazy, is that He’s able to do that every week, but with new things, for the rest of forever.

What brought you to DTS ///
I never had specific plans or dreams to commence a program like this, be a part of Intl. Mission Work, do a DTS etc.
But my plan remains:
try not to plan.

That way I can sort of take one step at a time, all the while praying about the next.
So I think it is proverbial, yet true, to say the Lord brought me here.

How are you adjusting to Germany ///
The transition’s been a pretty smooth one.  Nothing’s been too hectic.  The major adjustments thus far have just been little things; like the weather, & living in a communal environment (and everything that brings=).

What have you learned this week ///
Not anything that I can completely articulate.
It is cool to sense more closeness with the Lord after spending a lot more time with Him which is specifically set aside.  So yeah, it’s just been enjoying that time with Him for right now.
